PROJECTS & CAMPAIGNS
In 2011 we launched the "Positive Film Series" with the film Positive and Pregnant; an educational docudrama which explored the dilemma of mother to child transmission of HIV, the reality and social stigma of persons affected, and how they sought out prevention before treatment. Positive and Pregnant went on to become an award-winning production at several film festivals, globally. It also received the title of "Best Social Awareness Film" at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival in 2012 (ttff 2012). The film was also an official selection for the New York and Los Angeles International Film Festival and Zanzibar Film Festival in Tanzania, Africa. The content was well-received and subsequent screenings were done throughout local communities to sensitize audiences about the subject matter. The Positive Film Series is a part of a longitudinal study on the cause and effect of behavior change, citing Thompson and Lela Rolingson (2014): “positive films can influence short-term behavior change, through positive reinforcement of visual messages in media". We are inviting individuals, corporate and government agencies to be a part of our future success, as we continue on this mission to educate through positive messages in media.
We are presently in pre-production for the next two films in the series-Positive and Still Here:
The Male Perspective and Born Free: The Children's Story. We need your support to make this worthwhile venture a reality. Therefore, we are requesting the opportunity to meet with you and your team to do a presentation of the project and outline the benefits to your organisation.
